In 2 weeks, we’re bringing the cheer squad to the Melbourne Marathon. That sounds like we’ve cheered lots of races. It’s 2, if you count the Ballarat Marathon. That was spontaneous but we did have cowbells and back of the pack runners to cheer on.
The photo above is from cheering the Surf Coast Century a couple of weeks ago. Those Nike Vomeros will be running the half marathon at the Melbourne Marathon and I’ll be cheering them, with their human, along.
Signs make the race
After the Surf Coast Century, we have a cheer squad equipment stash. It has pom poms and cow bells and cardboard and markers But we don’t have signs in our cheer equipment stash yet. So, here are the ones I’ve loved and using for inspiration.

But the one I won’t use
I admit this was hilarious the first time I saw it at Sydney. I wanted to acknowledge the person with the sign but should it be in French or English? I was too far away before I made a decision. But then I saw the same phrase on other signs all the way through the course. Apologies to everyone who uses this sign. As I said, it was hilarious the first time I saw it.
