It’s now 6 weeks since my last run and I’m currently working mostly as a technical writer*. Seems a a little off for a site called The Running Marketer.
But it’s true. Unfortunately, I am currently injured with an anterior tibial stress injury. It’s a mild bone injury in a high risk spot on my leg. And means I’m spending a lot of time on the couch, tiny walks on crutches, and I won’t be running my first half marathon in 4 weeks.

When will I run next?
Soon, I hope. I really hope. Recovery has taken longer than expected, but it is getting better. I need to have 5 consecutive pain-free days before I can add more things in. Last Tuesday night and Wednesday I made it to 24 hours. Since then it’s been twinging every few hours but the twinges are pretty weak. It’s really frustrating but there’s nothing I can do to rush it.
What’s my next race?
The Ballarat Marathon in 25 weeks. It’ll be my first and probably only marathon.
Racing a 10k at the Carmen’s Fun Run in February is also calling to me. However, my very practical husband reminded me I should actually get clearance to walk faster than 4 kph and for 5 minutes per day before I sign up for anything. He does have a valid point.
Until then, I have Welcome to Wrexham to binge from the couch.
* I realised I missed explaining my job. The last couple of years have been using marketing tactics for tech writing and customer comms.
